About Dr. McDonald
Joe McDonald, MD, is a highly skilled internist with a passion for personalized care, and the founder of Kaizen Medispa in Bethesda, Maryland. Throughout his journey in medicine, Dr. McDonald has embraced the concept that getting to know the men and women who entrust him with their care is the best way to create positive outcomes in their overall health and wellness.
Dr. McDonald also understands the wisdom in the adage that looking one’s best translates to feeling one’s best. To that end, he’s excited to play a central role at Kaizen Medispa.
Dr. McDonald completed his undergraduate studies in biology and chemistry at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas. He then earned his master’s degree in microbiology/immunology at the University of Kansas in Lawrence.
Dr. McDonald received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, where he remained to refine his skills and patient interaction through a residency in internal medicine. He also completed two years of fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care.
After years of work as a hospitalist and in private practice as an internal medicine specialist, Dr. McDonald is excited to focus on aesthetic medicine. He’s sought out educational and training opportunities to expand his understanding of the latest aesthetic tools and techniques.
At Kaizen Medispa, Dr. McDonald helps those in his care feel great about their appearance, and carry that confidence into every aspect of their lives. He finds his work deeply rewarding and is excited to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.
